Gulzar Nayani

Gulzar is a Karachi-based documentary filmmaker, with the expertise of working as a producer, director, cinematographer as well as an editor. An advocate of human rights on a quest to regain her critical voice by immersing in the process of documentary filmmaking. She thrives to question limiting stereotypes embedded in culture, social, and political fronts to unpack them with her observational and creative filmmaking skills. 

She has work experience with production houses, namely Grayscale, Shaskay Films, and Wormhole Production. She was also part of a core team that launched a new digital venture called Cutacut, where she contributed as a video producer. Her Independent documentary project, No More Backseaters was selected and premiered at Capri Cinema under Goethe-Institut Pakistan’s Sunday Matinee.
