Sharanya Ramesh, a native of Bangalore, India, graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication in 2008. She has worked on innumerable television commercials in the capacity of an assistant director, simultaneously pursuing smaller, passion projects as a director. Her interest in different styles and forms of filmmaking led her to explore stop motion animation.
Apart from a short continuing education course in stop motion animation at The School of Visual Arts, New York, she has learnt mostly on her own. In an attempt to push herself more in this space, she made the film Thatha’s Secret, working on it almost single handedly in every role over 16 months in 2017-18.
