The verdant grasslands of the Lower Dibang Valley in Arunachal Pradesh are one of the last homes of the critically endangered Bengal Florican. It is also home to the Idu Mishmi tribe. And a voice from within the community has been leading the effort for the Bengal Florican's conservation. Despite opposition, Ipra Mekola has emerged as a steadfast protector of the tribe's winged neighbours.
