Jacaranda Tales, a film festival on Women and Nature, is brought to you by Bangalore Film Society (BFS), in collaboration with Bengaluru Sustainability Forum, Karnataka Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi, Gamana Women’s Collective, Gram Seva Sangh, G Foundation for Art and Culture and Kriti Film Club.
As if ushering in the International Women’s Day (IWD) in March, the Jacaranda trees paint the Bangalore skies purple, a colour that feminists have historically used to represent the Women’s Liberation movement and more recently, the IWD. Previously held in-person, in Bengaluru in March 2022, the online edition was held from 9-18 April 2022 and included 25 films, curated under four themes. Please click on the theme boxes below, to know about the films that were screened.
We hope you enjoyed the festival and have some insightful and energising takeaways from it. Please share them with us on space.kriti@gmail.com
