Ramana Dumpala | India | 2018 | 12 mins | Hindi with Eng subtitles
Glow Worm in a Jungle is about Hema Sane, a retired Botany professor, who has never used electricity ever in her life. Surrounded by nature, amidst a concrete jungle, she shares her philosophy of life with humour and wisdom.
Ramana Dumpala worked in the Telugu film industry as an associate writer for two feature films. After that he studied both editing and direction at Film and Television Institute of India. As a student editor, he edited two fiction films and one documentary. As a direction student he directed three fiction films and one documentary.
Meena Longjam | 2019 | 30 mins | Manipuri, English with Eng subtitles
The story of Achoubi and her love for the threatened Manipuri ponies. Defying the odds of age, ill-health, financial challenges and strained familial relationships, she fights passionately to save these endangered beings from extinction. She finds extraordinary strength and happiness from being with them and caring for them, creating an incredible universe of affection and kindness for animals that most people remain indifferent to.
Dr. Meena Longjam is an award-winning independent filmmaker and the first woman filmmaker from Manipur to bag national award for her debut documentary film “Autodriver”. She is a single mother of two doting kids who struggle to find time with her role of motherhood and pursuing her academic and professional pursuits. Her recent work Achoubi in Love was screened at Film South Asia, Kathmandu 2019. She is developing more such woman empowerment films for production.
Irushi Tennekoon | 2019 | 04 mins | English
In this short animated film, marine biologist and ocean educator Asha de Vos talks about the giant blue whale skeleton that inspired her as a child, and the challenges of being a South Asian woman in science.
Irushi Tennekoon is an illustrator and experimental animator based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. She is also an educator with a background in English studies and teaches English language to undergraduates at the University of Colombo. Currently, she is working with a talented team to create an animated series titled Animate Her. This project is supported by the British Council’s Creating Heroines programme and features a group of exceptional women living and working in Sri Lanka.
Priya Thuvassery | 2019 | 53 mins | Tamil, English with Eng subtitles
The filmmaker's journey with Uma, a certified scuba diver, exploring the underwater world and the threat to the coral reefs of the Gulf of Mannar. Born in a traditional family, inspired by the beauty of the corals, Uma learnt how to swim, dive and paint in her 50s and has since been trying to bring attention to this alarming environmental crisis through her paintings.
Priya Thuvassery (Director), is an independent filmmaker and television producer based in New Delhi, India. She has experience in directing, producing and editing documentary films and television programmes. ‘Coral Woman’ is her first feature-length documentary film. Nitasha Kapahi (Cinematographer), is a graduate of FTII (Pune), and divides her time between projects in Delhi, Canada and Thailand. She has worked on ad films, documentaries, television shows, video installations, music videos, short films, and her abiding passion — underwater cinematography.
Shabnam Sukhdev | 2016 | 54 mins | English
This film is about sustainability of an ideology through the mission and vision of Didi Contractor's mud architecture which draws in natural light and ventilation while also preserving the natural aesthetics.
Shabnam Sukhdev is an award-winning filmmaker and educator with undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Sociology, and a B.Ed in Special Education. She pursued her interest in filmmaking by obtaining a 3-year post-graduate Diploma in Cinema from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. Discrimination and human rights issues concern her deeply and are reflected as recurring themes in her work. She believes that a personal independent voice can deeply reflect the concerns of a society.

Vena Kapoor (ecologist and nature educator), Chetana Purushotham (biologist and marine educator), and Venetia Sharanya (wildlife biologist) discuss the role played by gender in their personal career-journeys and also in the larger context of decision-making in wildlife conservation.
