A Winter's Elegy

In the cast-off town of Panipat in North India, the history of fabric is fused with that of its migrants. A young textile worker retells the modern history of this city, once known for its battles. The film essay ruminates on the memort of clothes and the desires of women workers who work all day in the ultraviolet lights longing for sunshine.

The everyday-lives of three female labourers working in a brick kiln in India takes an upsetting turn after an unexpected rainfall halts their work. What unfolds is a threatening tale of unorganized labour and economic debts in a rapidly urbanizing India.

Desperate to make ends meet during Covid19, Munmun, a migrant domestic worker and mother of two kids takes on the risky job of nursing her ex-employer Rekha’s husband. The two women, who were at loggerheads in the past, find themselves under the same roof during the lockdown.
