Parvathy Nagarajan specialises in entrepreneurial training in making herbal food and cosmetic products for rural communities. She has trained 50 village-level women entrepreneurs across landscapes and educated more than 20,000 domain-specific people in the last twenty years to be environmental influencers and innovators. She has created a state of the art medicinal forest in Pitchandikulam Forest in Auroville, where she has worked for over 22 years.
Parvathy was awarded for her work by the National Biodiversity Authority in 2018 for the sustainable use of biological resources. She has a senior fellowship award from Bhoomi college for herbalist and natural healer and her work has been covered by leading media channels.
