Curated as a hybrid festival in 2022, after two online editions in 2020 and 2021, the in-person edition of this festival screened 17 films from 30th Nov. to 5th Dec. 2022 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
This festival is curated by Aanchal Kapur and Reena Mohan. It is organised by the Kriti Film Club, with some support from Jagori. A big thanks to all the filmmakers who have shared their films pro-bono for this festival.
The Beyond Borders Feminist Film Festival is held in solidarity with the Global 16 days of activism on Gender-based Violence and Human Rights Day month. The films at the festival present and promote feminist thinking and action for equity, justice, peace and sustainability of people, places, and policies, across our countries. Feminism as a way of life, a perspective, an ideology, and an action that makes the personal, political....a construct and practice that interplays gender and intersectionalities and how they affect us in our natural and physical environment. Read the curators' note here.
The online edition with 39 films, presents a diverse mix of #thoughtprovoking and #feminist cinema (including short
fiction, short and long documentaries, animation and music videos), curated across fivemain themes.
