This film follows Jamuna Tudu, a fierce environmental activist from Jharkhand, India. Horrified by the rampant destruction of forests in the region, she set out to rally the communities together and protect them from timber mafias. This was over a decade ago, and now Jamuna walks through these forests with her band of guardians, keeping a watchful eye over the sal forests — sacred to the Santhal, Munda and many other communities.
